So much to love in these words! And the beautiful way you laid them on the page. 💜 So uplifting to remember that even the joyful things are hard work, and they are meant to be.
“It’s exhausting and exhilarating,
This daily act of re-creation.”
I needed this reminder on a morning when my creating is releasing so much pain. I think I will practice copywork with your insightful words so I have it in print.
Thank you, Leslie. Yes, sometimes creating can even cause/release pain, but it’s still always worth it. I’m glad my words can accompany you as you continue to write and process, grieve and release.
Daily quest—love that! You know I love morning pages but I’ve also recently decided that instead of reading while I wait in the carpool line to pick up my kids, I’m going to implement carpool creativity where I use that 20ish minutes to do something creative each day!

Hope you are starting to feel better!!
Ooh, love the idea of creating while in the carpool line! How’s it been going? What kind of projects have you been doing?
I’ve mostly been doodling on procreate on my iPad—something I really enjoy but rarely make time to do! It’s been really fun!!
“Even receiving the gift takes effort. Let us accept this work as our calling,”
The receiving and the calling are only the beginning, it’s in the making and the giving that we receive. This is so good, Aly!!!
Yes! The making and the giving are the fun part!
